About Us
Nestled on a hill overlooking the historic downtown of Weston Missouri, you will find the perfect spot to hold your gathering! Events at Greenbrier will be the ideal setting for your occasion.
The house was built in 1852 and still has that antebellum feel inside. Original floors and fireplace are just a part of the authentic decor. You’ll find three rooms plus a fully equipped kitchen with dishware, silverware, glassware and anything else you might need to entertain. All you need to bring with you is food, drink and your guests! Bringing decorations is optional; the setting is already beautiful.
our history
Who would have thought that sitting on the bleachers together, watching our kids play sports would start a friendship that has lasted over 40 years? Through get together’s, shopping, traveling, and talking about our bucket lists, we realized the one thing we had in common was opening an event space. Thus: Events at Greenbrier.
Susan is retired from working at the Farm Service Agency in Platte City, Missouri. She lives northwest of Weston.
Theresa is a retired speech therapist at Platte County R-3 and resides in Farley, Missouri.
Paula is a retired kindergarten/first grade teacher at Platte County R-3 and resides in Platte City, Missouri.
The house is owned by Susan and her husband, Chris. Originally purchased to be used as their future retirement home, it was most recently a rental property. The house became available in September 2021. We had the opportunity to put our ideas into action, changing a bucket list dream into a reality.
We hope you enjoy our space as much as we have enjoyed putting it together. Our goal is for you to be able to spend your time in a quaint, comfortable home atmosphere for your special event! And take a look at what Weston has to offer!
the home’s history
Greenbrier was built by Colonel James A. Price in 1852. Price’s wife was the great-granddaughter of Daniel Boone, but the Price couple never lived in the home. He worked as a dentist and served as Weston’s mayor.
It is unknown who occupied the home, until 1921 when Charles and Mary Lee Quinley purchased the home. The Quinley’s were well known in Weston as owners of Quinley Paint Store. The Quinley’s resided at Greenbrier until their deaths. In 2008 Susan and Chris Cogan purchased the home.
